Together as a Christ-centered church, we will Love, Proclaim, Reach, and Launch.
Living Grace Alliance Church (LGAC) is a small community church situated in Hacienda Heights and West Covina. We have regular Sunday services and events in Hacienda Heights and fellowship groups in West Covina.
Before we became LGAC, we were two churches: Livingstone Alliance Church (LAC) and Grace Chinese Alliance Church (GCAC). LAC, founded by Rev. Kai Ming Ho in 1992 with a mission to "Embrace Uncertainty and Be Faithful", loyally served two generations of the Cantonese community in the Hacienda Heights area. And GCAC, proudly founded by Rev. Moses Chung in 1987 on Easter Sunday, faithfully served two generations of the Chinese community of the West Covina area.
LAC and GCAC were deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, leading both churches to reimagine the future of God's church and seek to rebuild a church that truly reflects the reality of the current community, respecting and honoring its changing demographic.
In 2022, when both churches realized something new had to happen, Rev. Will Law (lead pastor of LAC) received a call from Rev. Chan (senior pastor of GCAC) about the possibility of merging. The rest is history.... After many days and nights of prayers and waiting for God's guidance, we finally merged to become ONE Church: Living Grace Alliance Church.
The merge does not mean the end of LAC and GCAC. Rather, it brings together and matches the spiritual gifts from both churches so that we serve better. The merge symbolizes a new hope, a new path, and a new season. We want to be a community of believers who are also the good neighbors of the people we are called to serve.
"Living Grace" is taken from Livingstone Alliance Church and Grace Chinese Alliance Church.
We believe the new church is the vivid, living grace of God: a community of humble servants bringing God's justice, mercy, love and grace to the world. We no longer only serve the Chinese, but everyone, all inclusive. God will build His church on this rock in this new season.
"Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:13-18 ESV
